Communication Alumni Career Panel

The Communications Studies department will be holding a Communication Studies Alumni Career Panel that will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Heritage Room in Maxwell Library.
This event is to provide students with the opportunity to hear from alumni that have graduated with a degree in Communication Studies. The topics of conversation could include internships, extracurricular activities and other activities that helped them prepare them with a career and life post graduation.
Dr. Bjorn Ingvolstad and Dr. Thomasena Shaw will be moderating the panel.
The following alumni panelists will be in attendance: Daniel Bowler from the American Lung Association, Catie Fauvelle from Newbury College, Elizabeth Walker from McLean Hospital, Karen Rezendes from Eyewitness News, RI and Ashley Lomas from the South Coast Hospitals Group.

BSUPD Offers Rape Agression Defense Course

The Bridgewater State University Police Department will be conducting a Basic Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) course beginning on Wednesday Oct.15. RAD is a basic sexual assault defense course for women. This course is taught in five 3-hour sessions and is free to all participants. One course is all five classes, so you must attend all classes to complete the course.
The schedule for the upcoming class is as follows:
Wednesday Oct. 15, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Wednesday Oct. 22, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Wednesday Oct. 29, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Wednesday Nov. 5, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Wednesday Nov. 12, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – Simulation
The first night of class is on Wednesday, Oct. 15 in Burnell Hall, Room 132B. All classes will be held in Burnell Hall, Room 132B. Burnell Hall is located on Hooper Street and is connected to the back of Hart Hall and Moakley. Class size is limited, so those interested should register as soon as possible.
To register, contact BSU Police Captain Michael Froio via email only to mfroio@bridgew.edu. Please leave your name, address, phone number, and email address when sending an email or leaving a phone message. Again, course enrollment is limited and is based on a first come first serve basis.

Diwali – Save the Date

The Center for Multicultural Affairs, Asian Studies, and Global Village: Residential Learning Community will bring to you a Student Centered celebration for Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. This is a showcase of BSU student talent for the BSU community. Featuring intercultural learning experiences, music, and of course, food.
