-U.S Closing Embassy in Yemen

White House declares closure of ambassador in Sanaa the capital of Yemen. The move comes after a powerful rebel group, Houthis, took sudden control of the capital.

 

-Hollande determined for Peace Talks to Succeed

French president Francois Hollande is reportedly determined for Ukraine peace talks to succeed. The leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France have a planned meeting Feb. 11 in Minsk.

-Will Brian Williams Lose His Job?

Two months ago, Williams renewed a five-year contract with NBC at a reported $10 million a year. Last week, Stars and Stripes published a story that Williams has embellished his 2003 war-reporting experiences in Iraq. After the publication, the NBC anchor willingly stepped down and was suspended without pay for 6 months.

 

-Over 100 Confirmed Cases of Measles in California

A total of 107 cases of measles have been confirmed in California, more than a third of them linked to an outbreak that began in Disneyland in late Dec. Additionally, more than three dozen cases of measles have been reported in 19 states and Mexico.

-MBTA Experiencing Major Delays

As a result from the hazardous snow, the MBTA trains have been experiencing crowding. The Red Line and Orange Line operated at a limited capacity and shuttle buses replaced the Red Line between JFK/UMass and Braintree stations.

 

-Historic Storm Breaks Records

Boston has been hit with more than 60 inches of snow in the past two weeks. The National Weather Service predicts the upcoming storm could bring between 3 and 6 additional inches of snow on Thurs. and Fri.
