The Bridgewater State University Women’s Basketball team won their final regular season game last Tuesday, 74-63, against fellow MASCAC division squad, Salem State.

The seniors were recognized at mid-court before the game, and went out in style as their final regular season game was a success.

The final score reads that the Bears won the game by 11 points, but the game was not as close as the score makes it seem. A large second half lead dwindled down as the seniors were celebrated off the court as the game was secured.

This victory lands BSU’s women’s basketball a 14-10 record, and the number two seed heading into the upcoming MASCAC Tournament.

More importantly, the Lady Bears were able to get a first round bye, and will look to take this momentum into the semi-finals. They will take on Worcester State after they defeated Salem State on Tuesday.

Earlier this month, the Bears looked as though they might be slipping–losing three nail-biters in a row–but have since bounced back. The Lady Bears were victorious over both Fitchburg State and Salem State to end the season on a good note.

The Bears matchup with Worcester will take place Thursday, Feb. 26 at 5:30 p.m. The Bear’s earned a home game with their number two seeding in the MASCAC and will host Worcester at the Tinsley Center in what’s sure to be the most exciting game of the season.
