With only days away, we are slowly approaching Spring Break here at BSU. After making all your travel plans, doing all of your never ending packing, and spending a fortune on plane tickets, you probably have no desire to spend any more time and money on those much needed spring break essentials.

Not to worry spring breakers. I have some major tips on staying in style while keeping within your budget.

Odds are you’ll be jetting off to a warm, tropical island, and who can blame you with the crazy weather we’ve been having? The first thing to think about is the necessary items that you will definitely need for this trip.

There is only one word that comes to mind when you hear spring break: beach. Of course bathing suits should be at the top of your list of spring break essentials. The problem is buying all these swimsuits can be very expensive. It’s also difficult finding pretty ones when you’re on a tight budget.

The key words are “spring break swimsuit sale.” Because it’s around the corner, stores have been catering to their customer’s desperate needs of finding cute swimwear, but at an affordable price.

My favorite swimsuit stores are Target and Victoria’s Secret. This week Victoria’s Secret is having a mix and match bikini sale, 2/$39. Also, Keep up with the savings at Target for their buy one get one 50% off sale.

Both stores have all unique, fashion forward styles at great prices. Plus, the timing is perfect to buy these bathing suits because of the extra savings for spring break.

If you’re heading to the beach, you’ll also need a pair of sunglasses. I recommend going to The Hidden Treasure Consignment Shop. Right up the street from BSU, you’ll find the perfect shades. It’s where I found my favorite pair of Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses. I got them for the amazing price of only $4 with the tags still on them.

Don’t forget to protect your sunglasses with a flashy, fun carrying case. At T.J. Maxx, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this adorable Moschino carrying case for only $5.99. Their selection is amazingly affordable.

With some fun in the sun, you’ll need to protect yourself. I’m talking sunscreens and lotions to keep your skin looking fresh and fierce. Walmart and Target has those amazing travel size bottles that are under $5. For those prices, it’d fill up the cart.

Before you jet setters fly away, just keep in mind to be safe this spring break. Stay close to your friends and loved ones. It’s your vacation. Spend it how you want, make some memories, and have fun.
