College students should be more aware of world events

Are you aware of what is going on in the world? Or, are you being deceived? Are you distracted from the truth? It is often the case that deception arises not from externalities, but from within our very minds; we are plenty capable of deceiving ourselves.

It is our own ignorance that spawn’s self deception. The lies of this world masquerade as the truth, seeking to pounce upon those lazy and ignorant subjects whose minds are vulnerable to that which they do not know. Understanding, wisdom, knowledge, these are the weapons by which our minds protect against falsehood.

Are you aware of what is going on? Or, have you believed only what you are told to believe? There is nothing more dangerous, both to oneself and to all of mankind, than an individual who does not question. Be a skeptic and question daily that which you have been told and that which you believe.

An enlightened and knowledgeable society is imperative for the preservation of our great nation and for the continuance of freedom. Ignorance of the affairs of this world can be bought only at the cost of liberty.

It has often been asked and many have tried to answer–what is the meaning of life? I tell you this, it is the purpose of our existence to obtain truth, defend against lies, and to speak only the truth to those who will hear it.

This is the weight that rests upon our shoulders and the burden to bare for this rising generation. Seek not the temporal pleasures of this world, rather, strive to restore to society a foundation of truth and preserve that precious gift of freedom that so many have died to defend.

With the preservation of knowledge and truth, so too will freedom and liberty be preserved. The enlightenment that knowledge brings is the means by which the schemes of men are revealed and the acts of tyranny exposed.

Be informed of the pressing matters of our time; seek knowledge and understanding. It is truth and wisdom that compels great men to action and halts the ploys of evil men.

“Convinced that the people are the only safe depositories of their own liberty, and that they are not safe unless enlightened to a certain degree, I have looked on our present state of liberty as a short-lived possession unless the mass of the people could be informed to a certain degree.” –Thomas Jefferson
