In recent weeks there has been reoccurring theft in the girl’s bathrooms of the Maxwell Library. These thefts occur when bags and valuables are left unattended on the shelves within the restroom.

According to David Tillinghast, Chief of BSU PD the best way to avoid theft is to never leave your valuables unattended. Beyond that Chief Tillinghast said, “If suspicious activity is observed, please report it to us–we will respond to all calls received.”

While these thefts are not widely known across the BSU community the students seem to have similar opinions. When asked, multiple students expressed a need for individuals to be accountable for their own belongings. BSU Junior, Haley Falcon, said, “I would say it is our responsibility to keep track of our belongings but it is sad that people cannot be trusted.”

The official process for reporting theft is to call the BSU police department at (508) 531-1212 or walk into the station at 200 Great Hill Drive (next to Tower Lot) and file a report.
