BSU Internship Office is donating professional clothing to students for job/internship interviews for free. Diane Bell is director of the Internship Program Office has participated in seeing this idea through.

“This came about when wondering if students were having trouble transitioning,” said Bell.

“We have already had students drop into our office and try on pieces,” said Bell. “They have been very grateful and can enter a job or interview looking more professional.”

In hopes to gain funding, the internship program office would like to see students able to borrow a nice suit or dress and then return it.

Kayla Meech a junior at BSU is inspired by the internship program office.

“I’ve never been in need of clothing, but I know some students are,” said Meech.

“I know that when I go in for an interview I feel good when I look good,” said Meech. “Everyone should be able to feel that way, it probably results in a better interview performance.”

A promotional flyer will be posted on campus. Attire for women and men in a variety of sizes are being offered. Professional items include suits, jackets, blazers, cardigans, dress shirts, dresses, skirts, slacks and ties.

Jackson Kyle, a sophomore at BSU, said, “I think this is a great way for students to push themselves towards internships and job opportunities. Sometimes students might feel like they can’t commit to an interview because they know they can’t dress professionally. I’m interested in seeing how this opportunity not only benefits the way students look, but the way they feel.”

Students in need of professional clothing are encouraged to visit the Internship Program Office inside the Rondileau Campus Center, Room 204 open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
